About 1,800 fans attended the open air venue at the
AV Fairgrounds Saturday, May 15. AV Martial Arts
spoke with promoter Justin Vasquez and Fighter
Giovanni Sarran. Both were pleased with the event
and its outcome. Three local fighters, Alex Aldrete,
Giovoanni Saran, and Daniel McWilliams, won their
contests and a third, Stu Young, lost a tough match
to David Mancha of Yucaipa.
Special MMA guest Jason Miller attended the event
and addressed the crowd after the third fight.
For Saran, a Palmdale HS graduate, the win improved his
professional record to 2-1. Aldrete is an assistant
wrestling coach and also a Palmdale HS graduate.
McWilliams is a Palmdale resident. Stu Young is
the wrestling coach at Highland High School.
